Manufacturing and distributing ISO-certified, low-emission household biomass stoves in South Sudan.
Heavy dependence on firewood in South Sudan drives deforestation, health problems, and gender-based violence, as women and girls risk assault while collecting fuel. South Sudan faces serious environmental decline with rapid deforestation since 1990 driven by logging, farming expansion, and heavy reliance on firewood and charcoal. Displaced and low-income households depend most on firewood fuels, increasing pressure on fragile ecosystems.
AECC Africa manufactures and distributes fuel-efficient, low-emission cooking stoves that reduce wood use, improve health, and create local jobs. The AECC Africa Household Biomass (Charcoal) Stove is certified under ISO 19867-1:2018, achieving a thermal efficiency of 38.1%. It holds a Certificate for Household Charcoal Stove from the regional lab in Kampala, Uganda.
Our stoves significantly reduce cooking time, allowing families to prepare meals more quickly and efficiently.
By reducing wood consumption by over 58%, each stove can save numerous trees annually, contributing to forest conservation.
The production creates job opportunities within local communities, particularly for women, youth, and IDPs.
By minimizing the need for women and girls to collect firewood, our stoves help reduce the risks of gender-based violence.
Enhanced design and fuel efficiency lead to better cooking outcomes, promoting healthier food preparation methods.
Our stove reduces smoke and harmful emissions, improving indoor air quality and lowering respiratory and eye health risks.
AECC Africa is entering the global carbon market, allowing emissions reductions from stove use to generate carbon credits. Revenue will be reinvested into communities and expansion of climate solutions.
We call on government agencies, UN bodies, donors, and NGOs to support our high-quality cooking stoves and help vulnerable communities adopt safer cooking methods.
